Dame Rebecca Harris has been re-elected as the Member of Parliament for Castle Point for a fifth term following the 2024 General Election. Dame Rebecca received 15,485 votes (38.1%) with a majority of 3,251.
The Castle Point constituency covers Benfleet, Canvey Island, Hadleigh and Thundersley and now also residents living in Bowers Gifford.
Dame Rebecca will now work to deliver on the promises made throughout the campaign both locally and in Parliament - Fighting to protect the Green Belt from speculative development applications, pushing for more investment in the community, supporting small businesses, protecting the area from flooding, continuing to crack down on crime and ensuring elderly people have the support they need to retire in dignity.
Commenting on her election win, Dame Rebecca said;
“Thank you so much to the people of Castle Point who have put their faith in me again to continue to serve as your MP. I have always done my best to work hard for the people of Castle Point and will continue to do so.”
Dame Rebecca has served the Castle Point constituency as the Member of Parliament since 2010 and was re-elected in 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2024 respectively.
