A short story from Hadleigh resident, David Hurrell;
At about 8 o’clock whilst walking and simultaneously checking the weather forecast on my phone, I bashed my shins on this broken street sign. Anyone watching would have laughed at me getting my come-uppance not looking where I’m going. (Multi-tasking was never my thing).
…….. I photographed the obstacle and immediately emailed it to a couple of local councillors in the hope that they would alert Highways promptly.
An hour later, on my return, I espied Cllr Simon Hart who, with support from passing locals Glennis and Andrew Summers, had just safety removed the fallen post and placed a cone over the stump.
David concludes….. I’m not surprised that Simon took the initiative - this is his style - we could either talk about it and file a Report, or we could just get our boots on and DO something practical about it!
Hats Off to Simon Hart, our popular and public-spirited Hadleigh Ward Councillor.
