I am currently battling the councils planning department who are resisting enforcing their own condition attached to the original planning consent. The council is satisfied that the car park is still available at all times, but my argument is this is only the case if residents pay £60 to do so. This charge is not feasible for majority of residents and therefore prohibits their use of the car park beyond three hours.
It will have a detrimental effect on the vitality and viability of town centre as as such needs to be submitted by Morrisons as a planning application for consideration prior to implementation.
In my discussions with the council, it’s clear they want to wave this through without formally putting it through the official planning process, denying residents their chance to object and members to consider the bigger picture.
This is detrimental to residents and Hadleigh Town. I cannot roll over and let this happen.
