Essex and Suffolk Water have just called me to let me know that due to a shortage of top course at the site they won’t be able to restore all the footpaths until tomorrow which means they have to keep it fenced off which will mean restricting the road to one carriageway.
They are due to receive a fresh delivery tomorrow morning and now anticipate the road will be completely reopen tomorrow afternoon.

DAWS HEATH ROAD ESSEX & SUFFOLK WATER ROADWORKS DUE TO FINISH THIS EVENING
Earlier this week I spoke to Essex and Suffolk Water about the works for the burst water main Daws Heath Road. These have caused a lot of disruption in Daws Heath and Hadleigh over the past few weeks and I asked them to prioritise getting them lifted ASAP.
The works were due to be lifted on Friday but they have just told me they will now be able to lift them a day early and all the cones and barriers should be off the road tomorrow evening.
Normally Essex and Suffolk Water are far quicker at fixing bursts like this, so I asked them why this work took so long. It would seem that a substantial leak from an Anglian Water - Love Every Drop drain close by was complicating their work and that had to be fixed as well.
