It was an absolute pleasure to help welcome HRH Princess Anne, The Princess Royal, to East Haven Coastwatch Station on Canvey Island today.

The station recently moved from its old location by the Occidental Jetty in the East of Canvey, to its new location on Canvey Point and the Princess Royal was shown around their brand new modern Coast Watch Station. Her Royal Highness met with the Canvey Coastguards too, and she was very interested in the equipment used and the stories of what the volunteers had seen whilst on duty.

Coastwatch is entirely manned by volunteers who give up their time to help keep our shores and the Thames safe. It was wonderful they received recognition in the form of a royal visit.
