The take-up of the Warm Space has, to date, been somewhat muted and I would like to think that this may be because there is little need for such a service within the Castle Point community. However, I rather doubt that this is the case and that the reality is likely to be that we are not reaching those that might be in need.
At the outset we advertised the Warm Space in all the seemingly obvious places such as community Fb groups, CAVS, schools, libraries and doctors and dentists surgeries.
Perhaps we will see more guests at our sessions as winter takes a real hold but in the meantime if any of you should know of any families or individuals that might benefit from our services please do point them in our direction.
In each or our sessions we offer not only a warm pace but unlimited tea/coffee and biscuits, a hot meal to eat in or a frozen one to take away, a mini 'food bank' from which guests can choose to take whatever they need from whatever is available, all free of charge and no registration or referral is required. All are welcome.
While it is not actually part of the warm space there will be (for the 14th consecutive year) a full traditional Christmas lunch served at the Church on Christmas Day at 12.30pm. Anyone that might otherwise be alone on Christmas Day would be welcome to attend so if you think you know of someone that might want to join us please let me know. We do need to know exact numbers of attendees so we do have a cut-off date of Sunday 18th December.
As this is likley to be my last post before the big day, however you celebrate it, I wish you all a wonderful Christmas.
