Last month I met with the Commercial Director of First Essex Buses at the Hadleigh Bus Depot to discuss Thundersley residents' concerns over the alterations to the No.21 bus route.
I made it clear that I do not believe residents were consulted enough on the change. I am pleased however they have agreed to keep the decision under active review.
If there is enough demand to reinstate the service then they will, so its important that those who want the service restored, and would use it regularly in the future let them know!
Please send an email to my parliamentary email address [email protected] stating how often you would use a reinstated service. I will compile them together and send them off directly to strengthen the case for reinstatement.
Total bus journeys in our part of Essex are only at 80% of what they were before the pandemic. We need to use our local busses more for short and medium journeys to better secure their future as a service. If you make regular journeys by car, check if you can get there by bus instead via https://www.traveline.info/
I will keep in regular contact with First on behalf of residents as they keep these changes under view.
