This morning it was a pleasure to attend the first Castle Point Community Allotment AGM and give a talk on “saving today’s bee” .
The community allotment was set up last year on a disused council owned overgrown allotment plot next to the BP garage on the A13 in Hadleigh. Through the hard work and dedication of volunteers they have turned it into a little haven of tranquility for the whole community, and not just the green fingered.
Members of the community are free to come and help out and harvest around the year and they hold a number of small events and family days throughout the year.
It’s definitely worth a visit if you haven’t been already. For more info on the community allotment and how to contact the hardworking volunteers behind it, you can find their Facebook page via this link: https://www.facebook.com/.../permalink/1380286926160498/
