Former Prime Minister Boris Johnson has recorded a video message encouraging residents in Castle Point to vote for Dame Rebecca Harris at the General Election on 4th July.
Rebecca was a loyal supporter of Boris throughout his tenure as Prime Minister and he promoted her to become a Senior Government Whip in his Government and Comptroller of the Royal Household.
Boris made Castle Point his last stop on the campaign trail the day before polling day in the 2019 General Election and went out knocking on doors in Benfleet in support of Rebecca.
In his endorsement video, Boris said:
“She has been a great colleague and friend and a tireless worker for her constituency, a great Brexiteer, a great whip…but above all remember this, only a vote for Rebecca on July 4th can stop the nightmare of what could be a very big Labour majority.”
Commenting on her endorsement from Boris, Rebecca said:
“I am very grateful to Boris for his support. I remember when he came to campaign with me in 2019 the day before the last General Election. He would knock on doors and people couldn’t believe they had Boris on the doorsteps!”
